November 2nd & 3rd, 2007
We would like to invite all Illinois Free Will Baptist song leaders, worship leaders, instrumentalists, and worship teams to come to the First FWB Church of Decatur on the first weekend of November. This workshop is being put together by different worship leaders from around the state. This will be a time of sharing ideas and techniques as well as an opportunity to sing and fellowship together.

The Workshop will begin on Friday November 2nd at 6:00 pm and will conclude on Saturday at 3:00 pm. Registration is $25 and will include a workshop notebook and lunch on Saturday.

Breakout Session Descriptions
Media/Technology Simple: This will be a discussion based session.
We will be sharing ideas and looking at demos of Software programs that enhance PowerPoint such as Easy Worship and Media Shout. We will also be discussing projector options and share successes and failures using technology in worship.
Media/Technology Advanced: This will be a discussion based session.
We will be sharing some creative uses of imagery in worship, as well as resource sites for videos, backgrounds and announcement slides. If time permits we will discuss recording the service and podcasting.
Guitar Tips and Tricks: This will be an instructor led session.
In this session we will be looking at some simple guitar tips and tricks. Travis Penn from Calvary FWB Church will go over the use of a capo and a cut capo as well as “Drop D” tuning. We will also check out some resources for finding tablature or chord sheets for popular Christian songs.
Improving Transitions in Worship: This will be an instructor led session.
Ever feel like everyone is following you only to lose them between songs or announcements or the offering? In this session we will be examining the flow of the service and specifically improving transitions in worship. Wayne Kunde, Worship Leader from Victory Church, will be sharing some ways to improve the flow of the service.
Using iWorship DVD’s: This will be an instructor led session.
Do you have a hard time just finding a piano player? Or maybe you want to help your praise team develop their gifts and abilities. iWorship DVD’s may be for you. Becky Reed from Northwest FWB Church will be sharing how she has used iWorship in the services at their church in Chicago.
Sound System Tips: This will be an instructor led session.
Josh Ham from Bethel FWB Church will be giving us the low down on some simple tips to help get more out of our sound systems. This session will also have ample opportunity for discussion of successes and failures.
Introducing Instruments into Worship: This will be a discussion based session.
Ok. So you have someone who can play guitar and someone who can play bass, but you’ve always just had piano before, how do you put all of them together? Different leaders will be sharing their experiences going from just piano to piano plus something else. Please come and share you fears, hopes, and experiences.
